The County of Hawaiʻi invites the public to help shape the future of Hawaiʻi Island through the Laulima Community Survey, available through July 31.
The anonymous online survey aims to capture the voices and sentiments of residents and provide insights into what is most important to them. By repeating the survey every four years, the County will be able to monitor trends and ensure that policies and investments are aligned with the evolving needs and priorities of communities across the island.
“This survey is a chance for Hawai'i Island residents to share their thoughts and concerns about life in our communities — what is working, what is not, and what matters most to you and your 'ohana,” said Mayor Kimo Alameda. “It only takes a few minutes, but your input can have a lasting impact on the direction of our island.”

##
The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Research and Development is conducting a brief resident sentiment survey that will be repeated every four years. This is the first time there has been a coordinated effort to regularly collect and document resident sentiments and values. The survey results will be shared online, and will be used by agencies, service providers, legislators, and funders to make policies and investment that will meet the needs of our communities. We are conducting the largest data collection effort in the County in as cost-effective manner as possible and rely on our valued partners to support the effort. Once compiled, the data will be available online for anyone’s interest or use.
The survey is quick and easy to take. No personal information will be collected or reported.
