Application for the Akamai 2025 Internship Program are currently being accepted ! Eligible STEM students include those either attending a University of Hawaiʻi campus or kamaʻaina studying out of state.
The Akamai Internship Program offers college students from Hawaii an opportunity to gain summer work experience at an observatory, company, or scientific/technical facility in or affiliated with Hawaiʻi. Similar to last year, we will have placements available in Hilo and Waimea on Big Island, Kihei and Pukalani on Maui, as well as at UC Observatories, Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, we will not be hosting interns in Kona this year.
The program has placements for students from community colleges and four-year universities from a wide range of STEM majors. Akamai is a unique program with a long history of success. There are now more than 500 Akamai alumni, and more than 250 working in STEM jobs.
